A small studio for stitchers and their pets
Hoop & Paw is a small, independent pattern studio. We make one thing: counted cross-stitch patterns of your pet, from your own photo — patterns that look like your pet and are pleasant to stitch.
Why we built it
Free photo-to-pattern converters are quick, but their charts are usually a mess: hundreds of scattered single stitches, muddy colors, and a pet that only looks like itself from across the room. Commissioning a designer gives a lovely result, but costs a lot and takes days.
So we wrote our own pattern software, designed around how people actually stitch. It picks real DMC thread colors carefully, protects the details that make a face recognizable — eyes, nose, markings — and cleans up stray stitches so you can work in calm blocks of color. Then it lays everything out as a chart that's easy to follow on paper or a tablet.
The charting is our own code. For trickier photos there are optional AI styles that clean up or redraw the photo first — you always see the result before paying, and the Original style uses no AI at all.

You see the finished size, colors, skeins and stitching time before you pay. No countdown timers, no invented reviews, no “only 3 left”.
Your photo stays yours
Previews are made on your device. Uploaded photos are private, deleted after 30 days, and never used for marketing or to train AI.
Fix it, or your money back
Free changes for 30 days, and a refund within 14 days if it still isn't right. A person reads every message.
Who's behind it
Hoop & Paw is run from Norway. We're a very small team, so there's no call center — but every message to our contact form is read by a person, and you'll hear back within two business days.
