Which photo works best?
A sharp, well-lit close-up where your pet's face fills most of the frame works best. Daylight from a window beats flash, and a simple background charts more cleanly.
The pattern can only be as good as the photo, so a few minutes choosing pays off.
- Close and sharp. Your pet's face and shoulders should fill most of the frame, with the eyes in focus.
- Soft, even light. Daylight from a window is ideal. Avoid flash, strong backlight and dark rooms.
- Eye level. Photos taken at your pet's eye level look the most natural.
- Simple background. Plain backgrounds chart cleanly. If yours is busy, the Realistic style removes it.
- Original files. Use the original photo rather than a screenshot or a photo sent through a messaging app, which are often compressed.
